Agriculture is very important and should be treated as such.

Agriculture impacts the society in many ways including supporting the livelihoods through food, habitat and jobs. Agriculture provides raw materials for food and other products and building strong economies through trade and source.

Providing raw materials

-Raw materials are core building block of the global economy, without access to the raw materials manufacturers cannot produce products. Many raw materials derive from agriculture such as

Creates a strong supply chain

-Importing and exporting goods such as agricultural products require shipping methods such as ocean, rail, truck or flight.

Produces fruits and vegetables

-Fruits and vegetables are essential sources of fiber, proteins and carbohydrates in human diets. Vitamins such as A. C and E and minerals such as magnesium, zinc and phosphorus are naturally occurring in many fruits and vegetables.

Job creation

-Agriculture plays an important role in job creation as it is sector that has played an important role in decreasing the unemployment rate.

Food security

-Food security is central to the agricultural industry. Sustainable agriculture is a key to maintaining food supply

Provides social progress

-By increasing productivity, employment, and income

Provides foreign currency

-Agriculture produces foreign currency through the export - import process of agricultural products. 

Contributes towards rural-Urban balancing

-Through the creation of employment in the rural areas it discourages rural to Urban migration and thus helps in better distribution of incomes and balanced use of social amenities. Through all this multiplier effects agriculture is perceived to an engine of economic growth and development.
