1)Agriculture is Africa's largest economic sector, representing 15percent of the continents total GDP or more than $100 billion annually.
2) Agriculture in Africa has a massive social and economic footprint. More than 60percent of the population of sub-Saharan Africa is smallholder farmers, and about 23percent of sub-Saharan Africa's GDP comes from agriculture.
3) Agriculture is by far the single most important economic activity in Africa. It provides employment for about two (2) thirds of the continents working population and for each country the agriculture contributes to an average of 30 to 60 percent of gross domestic product and about 30percent of the value of exports.
4) Africa produces all the principal grains like corn, wheat and rice. In that order of importance. Corn has the widest distribution, being grown in virtually all ecological zones. Highest yields per acre are recorded in Egypt and on the Indian Ocean islands of Reunion and Mauritius areas where production is under irrigation.
5) Agriculture is the largest employer in the world. Almost all industries depends on the agricultural raw products. Agriculture is the backbone of all countries. Each country's GDP, economy, development, etc. depends on agricultural growth.
6) Banana's are the number one fruit crop in the world, Banana's are the 4th largest crop after wheat, rice, and corn. India is the largest producer of bananas than any country.
7) Goats were the first animals to be domesticated. According to many studies goats are the first animals which were domesticated. They are the cleanest of animals and more select feeders compared to cows, chickens or dogs. They don't eat contaminated foods or ground food.
